I notice the ‘University College’ sign on the polytechnic picture. I remember reading about a coast university being commisioned in kilifi but I had no idea that the mombasa poly(as was called) upgraded to a uni.Thats awesome.
Near the poly is a matatu stage called ‘transfomer’ and a small road that branches off the main road on the left called Hongera road.I lived in an apartment block at the end of that road for a year when I first arived in mombasa in 2002.There were lots of houses in the general neighbourhood that had been converted into hostels for the poly students.Interestingly unlike areas with a large students community, this area of tudor was really calm and crime free.

responding to Job.
I was in Mopoly last in ’92. Good memories. Used to cross through Kiziwi village and Todur high school to get matatus to docks. Can’t remember names of streets though.
